Greetings All I am preparing to head to Jacksonville, NC (near Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base) on 28 September to begin my Walk to Remember the Beirut Barracks Bombing of 23 October 1983. I will start the walk on 1 October and walk each day (hoping to average 12.5 miles per day) through 23 October in & around Jacksonville in an attempt to cover 273 miles ~ one mile for each Fallen Service Member listed on the Beirut Memorial. I ask for your prayers and encouragement for this undertaking. I would also ask that you spread the word as far as possible. Please ask everyone you can contact to take a moment on 23 October 2013 to remember this tragic event that took the lives of 241 of our Marines, Sailors & Soldiers. It is the 30th Anniversary of this event and those that gave their lives deserve a moment of our time.
