Greetings! I am putting together a PDF about the Abbey Players for prospective Oetgens as we attempt to get the theatre scholarship back on its feet. As part of this, I am asking past and current students who have held it to speak to the role that the Players played in your time at the Abbey and your subsequent work in whatever fields you have chosen, whether theatre-related or no. Of course, I am interested to hear from the number of Players who have placed into first-rate MFA programs or are working professionally without the undergraduate degree: Heather Leigh Achter, Sarah Wykowski, Christopher Donoghue,Brian Whelehan Mike Moore, Blake Williams, Mike Peveich, Andrew Antoine but as part of the approach Id also like to hear from scholarship holders AND people who didnt pursue theatre per se, like Thomas Vorholt, William McKenna, Kelly Williams, Chris Colclough, Patti Armstrong, Millie English, Clare Miller, Marissa Hatcher, Andrew Achter, Jo and Samantha Cassandra, etc. Can we get a few lines from you (or anyone else who wants to take a crack at it) that would be suitable as a blurb to try and explain to potential Abbey Players what it can mean, cause, you choose a verb, to make your experience at the College distinctive? This is also open to those of you who didnt graduate from the Abbey recently or even graduate at all, but consider yourselves (as you should) Abbey Players. For instance, it would be very cool to get a perspective from the faculty members who have participated over the years as well as the townies. What attracted you? What kept you coming back? You can post them here, if youd like, or message me. Or email me at [email protected]. Thanks!
