Greetings LCN members! As a part of the LCN you have an opportunity to contribute to shaping the future of this unique community and I hope you will do so, and will select me to be a part of the Board of Directors working to build this community of practice. (And a shoutout to Rawan for getting us started in utilizing the facebook group to discuss our candidacies!) I am new to the LCN community as of September 2013 when I had the opportunity to join with Drew Serres as co-leaders of the Organizing 2.0 (Re)Strategizing working group, where we are developing a 2.0 version of the curriculum around strategizing and restrategizing in campaigns and movements. Im excited to have the opportunity to run for the Board of Elections and let me tell you a few reasons why: ~ Im excited about the prospect of creating global online communities of practice for activists, organizers, and educators and trainers. ~ I bring 4 years of experience building global online learning networks and educational spaces with ICNC to the Leading Change Network so that it best serves the needs and desires of this community. ~ I am eager to build bridges between different traditions and frameworks for organizing and activism. Coming from a Strategic Nonviolent Conflict background, I see synergies and opportunities in bringing multiple perspectives and peoples together to tackle the major challenges of today. ~ I am relatively new to the organizing tradition and perspective and hope to bring fresh perspectives and ideas for the future of the Leading Change Network! Thanks for your consideration! You can learn more about me and other Board candidates on the LCN website; we hope each of you will take the time to contribute to the future of the LCN by voting! (Hint; Check your inbox, as an LCN member you should have received an invitation to vote.) leadingchangenetwork.org/network/2014-board-election/
