Greetings, Witches! The members of Strangers Gate Coven of the Temple of the Spiral Path will be donning our witchiest garb and marching in this years Greenwich Village Halloween Parade, and we would love to have more witches join us in showing NYC (and the rest of the world) some Pagan pride! The event website announces the theme for this year as The Garden of Earthly Delights. The parade will travel along Sixth Avenue from Spring Street to 16th Street on Friday, October 31st from 7PM-10:30PM.... This year, parade puppeteers will sow the seeds of a verdant garden, turning Sixth Avenue into a greenway of surging shoots, unfurling blossoms and tempting fruits dangling low from the animated boughs of a giant Tree of Life. Heres a link to the website: halloween-nyc/ Our coven will be singing and possibly drumming as we walk, plus well each carry a tombstone-shaped sign honoring our Mighty Dead to publicly celebrate the holy Sabbat via this Earthly-garden-themed event. If you wish to join us, please wear your witchy best with Earthy/garden touches so that well be seen as a cohesive group, and perhaps create your own RIP sign for a notable Pagan whos passed beyond the veil -- PLEASE comment on this post as to what name youre thinking of writing so we dont have multiple signs for single persons! You could also do a poster mourning someone who was killed within the past decade because they were accused of witchcraft. We understand this is both a workday and high holy day so many of you will be busy, but if enough people are interested then we can come up with a meeting place and time to formally gather before marching.
