Greetings all, and as always to those for whom it may apply, a blessed Holy Day to you. So many teachings speak of the futility of looking for one’s sense of self, of one’s identity through adding, material ‘things’, or even all that that which does not appear as material such as knowledge, or learning a skill or a trade. Of course in the ‘world’ all that such as this is needed for survival, but in the context of spirituality, to be deluded into thinking your trade, or occupation to be the truth, the core of your very being is an error in perception albeit a very common one. To be searching, on that proverbial journey that we refer to, at its core, is a misnomer, since to be on a spiritual journey to find yourself, is akin to seeking the comfort and safety in that which you call home, sitting in your favorite recliner, from already being in the comfort and safety of your home, and already IN your favorite comfortable recliner. Can you see the futility of our ‘search’ which stems from this misperception? Is it not better to realize this now, rather than when our physical existence is nearing its end? Our search for ourselves is no different than this, for you are already complete, just as you are right now, no matter who, where or what you ‘think’ you are. These are not just nice sounding words designed to comfort and humor, these are words of truth as pointed to by all the spiritual masters, and no they did not speak of recliners, but the truth is the same nonetheless…..lol…..God bless and namaste……jim
