I have to say that I am positively baffled as to why there has been such a ho-hum response to my previous entries in the Fun with Flags series. What could possibly be more enthralling than exploring the dynamic world of vexillology? For instance: here’s an interesting fact about flags. The flags of Liechtenstein and Haiti were identical by coincidence; a fact that wasnt discovered until they competed against each other at the 1936 Olympics. And thankfully their embarrassment was overshadowed by the rise of fascism. Speaking of marching under the flag of fascism, you should consider running in the 2014 Fun with Flags Half Marathon! Proceeds of this virtual run go towards helping to fund research for pediatric cancer through the Noah’s Light Foundation. Each participant will receive a custom 3 inch die cast finisher’s medal and a digital bib file. Since this is a virtual event, you do not have to do the entire 13.1 miles in one workout; you can break it into several smaller workouts that equal 13.1.
