Greetings facebook …. I come in peace …. I would like to offer an opinion that I have become very strong about …. In the African American community one of the fundamental building blocks in our past was our family unity …. Over the last few years there has been proof that if you do not have strong families, you are not going to have a strong community …. Unfortunately, because of our current situation, the state of the African American family in America continues to deteriorate …. About a third of all children here in Charleston live in a home without a father …. Our young people have been taught that getting married and having a family is not a priority …. Many of those that would like to get married and have children are not able to get the kinds of jobs that they need to support a family …. They have statistics that you can research that would absolutely shock you …. African American families have never been this weak and this is an incredibly troubling sign for the future of our community and our nation …. What will our future generations be like if they do not have stable homes to grow up in? .... I’m gonna close right here, but I want you to ask yourself this; “Will our children be more messed up in days to come than they are right now?” …. Think about it …. Peace!
