Greetings of Peace! The Zamboanga City Indigenous Peoples Council of Leaders will spearhead the celebration of The International Day of the Worlds Indigenous Peoples on August 9 (tomorrow), at Plaza Pershing (1:30 PM to 8:30 PM), in compliance with Exec. Order No. 64-2014. We would like to invite everyone- YAKAN, BAJAU, SUBANEN, KOLIBUGAN, and SAMA, to be part of history as we celebrate for the first time the day of the IP community in the city. Everyone is highly encouraged to wear his or her respective tribal attire to showcase the richness of the IPs culture and arts. The gathering is a two-part program. I challenge you the Indigenous Peoples to fight for your rights and to show other people that you too exist in the society. Its time for a change.
