Greg Hunt has approved the Carmichel Mine that will dump 5 million tonnes of dredge spoil onto the Great Barrier Reef at a minimum. Then there are the owners of the mine Adani, a company with a history of breaching environmental conditions in Australia and India. In September last year, Adani Group was fined the equivalent of $3.5m for damaging mangroves, creeks and the local environment at the site of its Mundra Port in Gujarat.
