Grew up on Lake Okeechobee, Pahokee. My Dad loved to fish, fresh and salt water. We always went to Salerno and went out via St. Lucie Inlet. Most of the islands were uninhabited and we walked miles and miles along the shoreline when we needed a break from fishing. So beautiful to me even as a child. We would find all kinds of wonderful things washed up on the beach. Now condos and homes line those beautiful shores. I am so thankful that I had the experience of being on those beaches before man destroyed the natural beauty.
