Grief changes our gravity So we find we have to hold on tight To the face of the world For fear of floating away, And without gravity It hurts to breathe Like someone is clutching at our lungs, Stopping them from working Ive lost my gravity, I find her words in unexpected places And I dont know how to keep on walking As though her hand hasnt fallen from mine, It is lonely to miss her Even though so many people do Because we are all bound by our silence, For fear of adding weight To someone elses burden We know the rain is just the droplets of water She shakes from her hair After dancing in heavens fountain, We know the sunlight is the warmth of her smile reaching the earth, We know the wind is just the whisper of her breath As she sends us soft I love yous The light and dark keeping changing places, Our eyes open and they close, The leaves are falling And the days are still unfolding Like little slips of paper Covered in secret and beautiful words, All anyone can do is promise to remember her and keep her light, Like soaring fireflies in the jar of their own heart To give them strength
