Group input needed: Hi I have a question. First, I would like to thank you for this page, it has been a source of strength to me these past few months! Every time I walk into the courtroom, I bring with me the strength of hundreds of others, Thank you! My question is regarding taxes. We have yet to file 2012 and 2013. We are fighting mostly about 2012 because I want to file married/ separated and each claim one child. My STBEX has changed his mind so many times, from OK, to no, he will claim both children, to lets file joint and split the money. While I am okay with that, I want a legal document stating that, because he does not want me to have anything. He hasn’t even paid child support yet because he thinks I will spend the money on me. (Our Trial isn’t until May). When I say I want the legal document, he gets so angry and says he will claim both. What are my rights here? If he goes out and files today, where does that leave me? In our text communication, I have been firm and clear. My STBEX is money oriented. I really believe we are fighting over custody share time (he wants 7 on, 7 off) so that he will not have to pay child support. He has told everyone that he will not ever pay child support, that is why I am not comfortable with him filing joint. I am so tired of him bullying me both emotionally, psychologically and financially.
