Grove Assigned to Four Committees 1/21/2015 HARRISBURG – Rep. Seth Grove (R-York) today announced his committee assignments for the 2015-16 legislative session. Grove will serve on the Appropriations, Finance, Labor and Industry, and Education committees. “I am looking forward to serving on these committees and helping to shape the Commonwealth’s policies,” Grove said. “These assignments are almost identical to last session. We made progress in address a wide variety of important issues, but I know there is still plenty of work to be done.” The House Appropriations Committee plays a crucial role in the annual budget process and considers any bill involving state spending. “I am looking forward to listening to Governor Tom Wolf’s budget address in March and in the budget hearings which will follow,” Grove added. The Education Committee handles legislation involving the Commonwealth’s school districts, charter schools, private schools, homeschooling, vocational education, community colleges, Pennsylvania’s 14 state-owned universities, four state-related institutions of higher learning and public libraries. “I will continue to advocate, as a member of this committee, for school funding reform, mandate relief and commonsense changes which save school districts money while giving students better opportunities at a great education,” Grove said. Grove will continue to advocate for reform of the Commonwealth’s school property tax system as a member of the House Finance Committee. “Last session, my reform plan was the only bill to pass the House,” Grove said. “I hope this is the session that members of the House and Senate come together on a real solution that provides relief for homeowners across the state.” Grove will also continue to serve on the House Labor and Industry Committee, which examines legislation concerning workers’ compensation, unemployment compensation, prevailing wage, child labor laws and other labor relations and workplace safety issues.
