Growing Palm Oil Business Threatens Africas Great Apes - We all know how the SE Asia Orangutans have had their homes nearly completely destroyed because of Palm Oil products, but now the Great Apes of Africa are under peril. Palm Oil is thought of as a healthy alternative to butter and is used in numerous products. A study by Biologist John Moores, and published in Current Biology found that 42% of overlapped land for the Gorillas and Chimpanzees is considered suitable for palm oil plantations, and shockingly 60% of that land has been set aside for palm oil already. This is one of the last habitat areas for the Great Apes home. Who is making these decisions??? This is appalling.....
