Grrrr! The slimeball of slimeballs, Chicago alderman Eddie Burke, - TopicsExpress

Grrrr! The slimeball of slimeballs, Chicago alderman Eddie Burke, continues to diss Eliot Ness. Yes, we all understand that Capone was convicted on tax charges that had nothing to do with the work of Ness and his men. But Ness and company genuinely made a difference n the fight against Capone, disrupting the flow of illegal booze and cash that made Capones empire possible. Ness and the Untouchables also provided a vital antidote to the cynical perception that everyone in Chicago was for sale, that there was no point in resisting the corruption because no one could make a difference when the fix was in. Ness was no movie script perfect hero. He was a real man with real weaknesses, real flaws and demons. And he remains a real hero to all the rest of us flawed and imperfect people, who sometimes need reminding that you dont need to be perfect to make a difference. Eddie Burke isnt worthy to shine the shoes of Eliot Ness. Burke represents all the cynical corruption and insider dealings that Ness fought and despised. File Burkes venal carping under Revenge Of The Shit, to paraphrase George Lucas. huffingtonpost/2014/01/28/eliot-ness-myths_n_4682587.html
