Gud news Gud news a new mobile company, ‘Smart Mobile’, will be launched in Freetown this morning, 28th March 2014 at its new office headquarters on Main Peninsular Road in Lumley. This was according to the Marketing Director of the Company, Waseem Jabasini who spoke to Awareness Times in an exclusive interview yesterday. He said Freetonians will wake up this morning to a pleasant surprise and see the InterGroup Telecom SL Limited launching its mobile network within Freetown under the brand name ‘Smart Mobile’. He said Smart Mobile is hoping to bring transparency and improved customer service to the market. Customers queue to buy their Smart SIM cards “If you live in Freetown, the chances are, you have already seen one of our teaser campaigns greeting people with our official color: Yellow!” Jabasini stated. He said Smart Mobile is starting with Freetown and will expand its network coverage to rural areas of Sierra Leone by the end of 2014. Smart Mobile SIM cards, he went on, will be sold at Le1,000 with an equal preloaded credit amount and that the billing and recharge (top-up) will be based on leones rather than Units. He said this is a move the Company believes will bring clarity and accurate charging. The marketing director further revealed that all calls within the network will be free for 30 days from SIM activation as part of the launch promotion during the network evaluation period and that this will allow the public to enjoy free communication. He said customers can pick their SIM cards from the numerous sales points around Freetown. In a separate interview with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Smart Mobile, Ray Akwa said, “We are very happy and excited to launch our service to the public. This is the result of the dedication and hard work of the Smart employees who are very eager to start interacting with the public”. He furthered that “We want the people of Freetown to pilot our network and provide us valuable feedback regarding their experience, in order to improve our network quality during the first months of operations”. Akwa ended up that as a new company, they intend to be close to the public and believed that they can achieve this by being transparent and allowing their customers to start making free calls to get more familiar with Smart Mobile. InterGroup Telecom SL limited, is a subsidiary of TimeTurns Holdings Limited, a holding company that acquired stakes in fast growing and strategically located companies in different industries and in various countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.
