Guess whos back on the schedule Rebecca Mayne Yoga Sunday at 10:30am Teaching and sharing yoga is a joy for me as it is an integral part of my life and path. It’s a blessing to be a part of students’ yogic processes: taking care of their bodies, calming their minds, and setting out on an internal exploration of spirit. I study in heart-centered traditions, so it is my intention to teach from this same place: the heart. Receiving my bachelor’s degree from Naropa University in Yoga Studies and Psychology, I additionally received another 200hr vinyasa yoga certification from the Shambhava School of Yoga while living at their ashram in the Rocky Mountains, CO. Since then, I have continued trainings in YogaEd, Partner Yoga, Inner Yoga, while continuing to dive deeper into challenging vinyasa yoga classes with other bay area teachers. Currently, I am earning a Master’s Degree of Counseling Psychology at The Wright Institute in Berkeley. In my own classes, I pulse between flowing and holding postures in stillness to access the full spectrum of the energetic signatures of the practice. I provide a balance of holding a container for anatomically safe and sound yoga practice, while giving students ways to find their personal expression of yoga. It is my hope that the peace that each student finds on the mat, throughout the physical and mental challenges, will pour over into his or her life through the incorporation and cultivation of intention and awareness of body, mind, spirit and breath.
