Guildford, Surrey has a reputation for being a bit posh (but not Kensington and Chelsea levels of posh), old but lacking a medieval cathedral, good for shopping, home to a university and some high tech (but not as much as Silicon Glen or Fen), and a bugger to park in. It is not at the top of anybodys list of UK tourist destinations. So: an attractive, generally liveable, but unexciting English town, not unlike how the English see themselves, actually. Except that it has a baseball team. A BASEBALL team. I... what? No!
