Gujo dance festival comes to peak A traditional summer dance festival has reached its peak in the city of Gujo in central Japan. Tens of thousands of people are dancing throughout the next few hot summer nights. The Gujo Odori festival, dating back about 400 years, is held every year from July to September in an historic town in the mountains of Gifu Prefecture. The Bon dance festival has been designated an "Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property" by the government. The highlight is 4 consecutive evenings of all-night dancing, which began on Tuesday.
