Gum will kill your pets, but its OK (according to the FDA) for people to absorb all its toxins through the walls of the mouth and straight into the blood. So we try to cut out sugar when the kids get sick, but we think surely a stick of gum cant be that bad. Think again. It could actually cause troubles all by itself, and sugar-free gum actually spikes blood sugar. We found the following babble repeatedly regurgitated by all of the major gum companies.
