Gunny, said he had the privilege to lead Retreat on MLK Jr. Day and that he would love if Bob and I could come to The Park and stand at The Pole to Honor our Veterans as well as remember Dr. King. Our dear Friend, John Kraft, who works in Sacramento for the Dept. of Veterans Affairs was going to be there also. Gunny said he wanted to Honor him after Retreat. Gunny came out after Retreat BUT he surprised me by having John present a challenge Coin to me that a Marine had given Him from Washington DC and the Iwo Jima Memorial. I was overwhelmed by this sweet thoughtful act that Gunny chose to do on my behalf.
