Guy Scott threatens ZNBC Board FOLLOWING the defeat of the Cartels wicked plans to fire PF Secretary General Edgar Lungu, Acting President Guy Scott has blamed ZNBCs professional coverage of this matter for the failure to dismiss Lungu. When George Chellah urged ZNBC to give prominence to the dismissal, he also ordered a blackout to reactions until the Country had been forced to accept the decision of Lungus dismissal. But ZNBCs editorial team fearing to plunge the country in chaos allowed the statement from Chipili MP,Davies Mwila who had rejected the appointment of Secretary General to replace Edgar Lungu. ZNBC also covered the mid-night reaction by Edgar Lungu and Minister of Finance and Uncle to President Sata, Alexander Chikwanda’s statements despite the strict orders from Chellah who said he was representing the Acting President. ZNBC also covered the political counsel given by UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema and Nevers Mumba of the MMD who both urged the PF top leadership to stop bickering and concentrate on mourning President Sata. Chellah has been controlling the media despite the latest development where his boss is no longer holds office. He was also instrumental in the action and decision to dismiss Edgar Lungu. Chellah worked with Harry Kalaba, Miles Sampa, Mutembo Nchito and Musa Mwenye. Chellah personally went to Parliament Motel on Nangwenya Road to pick Davies Mwila and later Kawambwa Central MP, Nixon Chilangwa to meet Guy Scott to accept the purported appointments. Scott is being urged to replace the ZNBC editorial team with junior reporters Chellah has been working with in the past. Chellah was instrumental in polarising the so called A - Team against the B - Team. He is also blamed for the tension that led to the deep divisions between the Edgar Lungu and Wynter Kabimba group. But Chellah has been begging many ministers insisting that he only supported President Satas agenda and not Wynters. ZNBC Management and Editorial Team is expected to be summoned to Ministry of Information to receive threats and a dress down. Source: Voice of Zambia.
