Guys, I hope this note finds all of you well. As revealed the current powers of WLN hockey have planned the Alumni game for January 10. This event is planned to pit the Waterford Alumni vs Northern Alumni and is to preceed the Waterford Unified vs Northern Varsity game. This is also designed to be a breast cancer fundraiser game with proceeds of both contests donated to this great cause. Hockey logistics have forced the Waterford schools to combine and this is an extension of the game Mott used to play against Kettering. The factor not taken into consideration is the alumni that are only in town over the holidays. I expressed mine and the concern of others about this with the current manager, and I felt as though he did not really understand that this arrangement is only beneficial for those alumni that live within 3 hrs of Commerce. Some of you recall we started this game as the current varsity squad vs the alumni and it has grown to where it is all alumni. I know many of you look very forward to seeing your old classmates and participating in this event. I hope that many of you can take part in this event on Jan.10. If there are enough of you that can only participate in a holiday time alumni game please let me know. While I applaud the cause and what it stands for, this is your game.
