Gypsy Kitchen 3035 Peachtree Rd NE Suite A208 Southern Proper Hospitality Restaurants and F&W Best New Chef Randy Lewis are currently conducting a search for their new restaurants opening in Buckhead Atlanta. Gypsy Kitchen (A Spanish Resturant) is seeking talented pastry cooks to be a part of our team. It is the primary responsibility of the Pastry Cook to make all pastries for the restaurant, take inventory and place orders. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES: -Maintains solid knowledge of all food products and is able to skillfully apply culinary techniques -Safely use all kitchen equipment and ensure it is maintained and functioning properly -Regularly restock all kitchen supplies and food items required for service -Properly label and date all products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation -Read, measure and execute recipes -Maintain an exceptional production knowledge and attention to detail with decoration and taste quality -Assist Executive Chef, other pastry chefs, bakers and helpers as needed in execution of production -Ensure food quality is superior and takes action to correct any irregularities -Effectively communicating with management and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and/or other employees -Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement -Performs other duties as assigned by the manager QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: Please do not apply if you do not meet these qualifications. -High school diploma or GED; 3 years pastry cook experience OR -2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years pastry cook experience -Working knowledge of equipment including, but not limited to, a slicing machine, mixers and small wares equipment -Working knowledge of weights, measures and various baking and preparation techniques -Working knowledge of American and European pastries -Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude -Be able to work in a standing positing for long periods of time Principals only.
