HAPPENINGS Miracle toy drive Accept A Miracle Toy Drive is accepting applications Nov. 7-21 for needy families and children in Greene, Pitt and Lenoir counties for its annual toy drive. Veterans’ ceremony The town of Fountain is hosting a veterans’ ceremony at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Wellness Center, located in downtown Fountain. Residents and veterans are encouraged to attend. Advance care The End of Life Care Coalition of Eastern Carolina is sponsoring a free advance care planning clinic from 1-3 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Pitt County Council on Aging, 4551 County Home Road, Greenville. A brief educational session will begin at 1 p.m. Trained facilitators and notaries will be available starting at 1:30 p.m. to assist in the completion of advance directive documents. Quilt Project Residents are invited to participate in the May Museum Signature Quilt Project by visiting the museum and purchasing a white fabric square to sign and/or decorate with fabric pens for a dollar. Proceeds will be used to join the white squares together with red striping and complete the quilt, which will then be displayed at the museum. The quilt will require a minimum of 361 squares, so visit the museum’s exhibit, “Anatomy of a Quilt: History of a Community” and add your family’s name to a new quilt.
