Hometown = Liverpool, England.12 / 8 / 1980 = John Lennon was shot and killed by Mark David Chapman. The music world lost one of its greatest talents & the world lost one of the greatest champions for peace. Of course we know that John was a member of the Beatles. In 1968, Lennon became the first Beatle to record outside the group, issuing an album with his wife-to-be, Yoko Ono --- titled Two Virgins. Next he organized the Plastic Ono Band, an informal & constantly changing group of musicians that would back him on most of his future solo recordings. The year 1970 brought the official break - up of the Beatles & Lennons first official solo album, Plastic Ono Band. He had many post Beatle Hits = 1970 - Instant Karma + 1971 - Imagine + 1973 - Mind Games + 1980 - Starting Over + 1981 - Woman & Watching The Wheels. Because of music like this + his Beatle recordings, John Lennon is gone - but, will never be forgotten.
