// HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my n°1 deejay // Today, one of my favourite deejays celebrates his birthday. Although I dont really know him that well personally, he has always been an inspiration for me as a deejay and as a person. Why? Let me tell you. When I was a younger I had the chance of meeting him a couple of times on several locations. He was at that time already an internationally well-respected deejay and producer, but he had no attitude at all towards young upcoming deejays like me. He was always helpful, kind and interested in what I was doing and I gave him a call whenever I needed advice. This is wonderful cause Ive met lots of other deejays who kinda looked down at the younger generation, as if they were competitors. As a young deejay, this really sucks cause you admire them, they are achieving what you can only dream of. So when a big shot deejay gave me a high-five, it made my day. I also liked his attitude: he has his opinion about electronic music and reading his interviews was fun and inspiring. He has always been in it for the music, and thats something I admire very much. He was part of a crew that put electronic music on the map, first in Antwerp and later on worldwide. So happy birthday to Sven Van Hees, may you keep inspiring other electronic music lovers!
