HDB lift upgrading on target for Dec completion Mar 10, 2014 - PropertyGuru.sg table_add Comment email_go E-mail to friend share Bookmark & Share The housing board has revealed that all HDB blocks are on track to meet the December 2014 deadline for the final phase of the 13-year Lift Upgrading Programme (LUP), media reports said. This update follows queries from various MPs and residents regarding delays in the completion of the lifts. With the aim of providing blocks built prior to 1990 with lift access on every floor, the LUP will come to an end once the lifts in the remaining 693 blocks are completed at the end of the year. However, upgrading works on 94 blocks could spill over to next year. HDB noted that while the project involves enhancing existing lifts or removing lifts that are no longer required, the blocks will still have lifts serving every floor.
