HE Governor #AlfredMutua of #Machakos : > Bought 40 ploughing tractors (each per ward) to cultivate for his people for free; > Gave out 2 million broiler chicks for youth to establish a chicken economy: he promised to source a market for them. > Reconstructed Machakos Stadium in a fortnight, to encourage sports, > Created the Machakos County Park, for leisure and relaxation; > Broke ground for an ambitious Machakos City, to foster urbanization; > Offered land to industrial investors, to create jobs and a production hub; > Installed street lighting and CCTV camera systems in Machakos City and other major towns, to improve security and encourage longer work hours; > Unveiled 120 Police and County Inspectorate security cars with CCTV cameras and car-to-base connectivity for co-ordination of operations; > Unveiled a state of the art DNA-testing and forensics lab for crime investigation (the Government of Kenya couldnt set one up, due to Anglo-Leasing!); > Acquired 40 German Shepherd sniffer dogs to help in criminal-tracing and other detective work; > Issued 80 million shillings as education bursaries for needy students in each of the 40 wards of Machakos; > Digitized his County Government, depoliticised service delivery and many more little big things. He has overshadowed the fumbling GoK and all the other governors combined. We should feel lucky to live in his age. He will make other Governors to get off their corrupt assess and do some little work!
