HEALTH CARE WEB SITE. Just listened to a report on what is a SNAFU. That should not have happened. Integration and testing issues. I/T is something I have 25 yrs experience with. OBAMA Deserves the HIT on this. So I am reminded. My best work was a Project I had SOLE ownership on at Harley Davidson Corp. some years ago. I designed and chose, installed and configured special hardware. Then i wrote ALL software to make this system work. It involved 2 computer languages and two separate databases. This had high visibility, the head of I/T at Harley made it personal to follow my progress. A jerk, but for a different reason. One of our first meetings he chose some dive bar off site to discuss my design and specs. I showed up with docs Id prepared. This was B.S. to me, holding this meeting in these circumstances. I was working for a contractor and told my boss it was bullshit and I would NEVER again meet like that. In addition I said keep this a-hole off my back, Id let him know when the system was ready and not a minute before. I was prepared to go over their heads to CEO of Harley and tell him what B.S. I was dealing with. They left me alone. I completed the system, debugged and strongest testing performed. Put it online, it ran and I was out of there for a new project elsewhere. I had never worked before with this equipment nor one of the languages and Databases. 5 years later I get a call from the contractor I worked for (Id moved on) asking Me about this system at Harley. Why is there a problem ? No, its never even hiccuped. They wanted to know if there would be issues if Harley upgraded servers. Not my problem now, I could not remember the specs. But then this is what you get when you dont keep your expertise in house. Contracting your work should be thought through thoroughly. Test.Test.Test. Young James will not be messed with. He will deliver. JT
