HELP SAVE THIS BEAUTIFUL MAMMA Barney is ready for adoption. Barney is a 10 year old lab cross, he is very sweet. He is quite needy, and loves to be the centre of attention. He was not house trained, but seems to be learning. So long as he is kept an eye on and let out regularly, most accidents can be avoided! He gets on well with my old boy, but he’s not a smoocher. Doesn’t kiss, but will lick your hand. Loves to lie at your feet and will follow you around the house. He will Sit for food and when asked, is learning Out, bed and down. In order to get in first with the attention, he will “herd” my dog Shadow out of the way, pushing him back with his backside. Loves to chase a ball – so long as it’s not too far away and he can still see where it went!! Is pretty agile and shows no signs of arthritis or hip issues. He also likes to carry soft toys around in his mouth… he has acquired quite a collection! Barney does not appear to bark – I have heard him whine, but never bark. Not a great car traveller – does not get in willingly and has vomited on occasion. The more he has settled in, the better he has gotten with this. Quite submissive, will lower his head if you try to take anything from him and will ask for a belly rub if he thinks he’s in trouble!! Is quite gentle when taking food, and learning to like a greater variety of foods than when he arrived. Great with kids and CATS!! No problems with my three – but he does get a little fixated on my black one – I think that may be his eyesight. Has never harmed any of them – just curious. Would be an ideal companion for a retiree looking for company, but must be able to cope with possible vet bills as he ages. Or maybe even a family with older kids looking for another dog to join them or keep another dog company. Would need further training to teach him some more manners, but as he’s so placid, no real bad habits. He is in Sydney
