HELP! This question applies to a co-worker. She is a US citizen and part of a very tight immigrant community. She graciously allowed an acquaintance from her tribe to stay overnight at her apartment because the other person lives in Lewiston and had an early am appointment in Portland. This happened about four weeks ago and now the guest wont leave! She is in her 60s, doesnt speak English and wont go back to her former living arrangements (with a son?). My co-worker lives in subsidized housing and risks losing her placement if the other person isnt gone by Monday. What legal remedies are available to her? She cant afford a lawyer and this would be too late anyway. Her housing, sanity and marriage are at stake.
