HELP WITH APPLYING FOR MEDICAID If you’re having difficulty getting enrolled in Medicaid, you should take your concerns to the place where you submitted your application. • If you applied at a county welfare agency or online at njfamilycare.org, you can check on the status of your application by calling the county or NJ Family Care at 800-701-0710 • If you applied through the federal marketplace at healthcare.gov, and haven’t received confirmation of enrollment, you can reapply at njfamilycare.org • If you are experiencing a delay in enrollment you, you can also call New Jersey’s medical assistance hotline, at 800-356-1561. For those who enroll in Medicaid, coverage is retroactive to the day they applied, not to when they received an insurance card
