HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation won an award for the Best Donor in Development of Tourism in the Kyrgyz Republic. On January 23, 2015, the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic organized KYRGYZ TOURISM AWARDS 2014 to award organizations and individuals that contributed to the development of tourism in the country. HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation was recognized and awarded for its long-term contribution since 1995 to improving tourism in the Kyrgyz Republic through the successful Community Based Tourism Support Project, promoting agrotourism through BioCotton project, providing professional hotel and restaurant business trainings through Tourism Skills Training in Rural Areas Project and promoting tourism in Alai and Chon Alai regions of southern Kyrgyzstan through «BAI ALAI» Small Business and Income Creation Programme in Alai and Chon Alai.
