HENRY COUNTY I-CASH LOCATION CHANGE: Illinois State Treasurer Dan Rutherford to Host I-Cash Event in Kewanee on September 25th Illinois State Treasurer Dan Rutherford is encouraging Henry County residents to attend his I-Cash event Thursday, September 25 to determine if the state is holding any money or unclaimed property entitled to them. In fact, 16,566 owners in Henry County have $3,166,535 in unclaimed property according to the July list of unclaimed property holders. The Unclaimed Property Division has $2.1 billion in cash, plus contents from Illinois safe deposit boxes that have been inactive for at least five years. Thursday, September 25, 2014 Kewanee, Kewanee Public Library, 102 South Tremont Street, Kewanee (Lobby) 11 a.m.: Treasurer Rutherford will be in attendance. 10:30 a.m. – Noon: I-Cash staff will be on site to help attendees find out if they have unclaimed property. *Please note that this event has been relocated. To find out if one has unclaimed property through I-Cash, one can visit the treasurer’s website at treasurer.il.gov and follow the I-Cash link. The website is updated weekly to reflect new properties remitted to the office. Additionally, our I-Cash team conducts regular outreach across the state, places twice-annual notices in newspapers and sends direct mail to new claimants with property worth more than $100.
