HERE IS AN UPDATE ON A PRAYER REQUEST I MADE YESTERDAY........PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR THIS YOUNG MOTHER. Good morning everyone and thanks for your continued prayers for my supervisors daughter. She has provided us an update this morning and I want to share this information with you to demonstrate the power of prayer and request your continued prayer in the life of this young mother. Below is the history of the events to date: Melanie had developed swelling and hypertension in the last 3 weeks of her pregnancy. She had gone to the hospital on a couple of occasions due to her blood pressure. On Monday, Mel saw her MD and he sent her to the hospital. She was evaluated and discharged, only to return due to an increase in her symptoms. When Renee reached the hospital, she could tell something was terribly wrong with her daughter. She insisted a doctor evaluate Mel immediately. At that point, the Critical Response Team was called and things started to happen very quickly. A decision was made to perform an emergency C section and deliver the baby. Elsa was delivered weighing in at 5#10oz, 18 inches. She was perfect. Focus then was on stabilizing Mel. Diagnostics revealed a brain bleed. It was decided that Mel needed to be transferred to an area hospital better equipped to handle the surgery and subsequent neuro care. Mel was life flighted to Cleveland Clinic where the brain surgery was performed. After the surgery, the doctors shared they did not think Mel was going to make it. Mel’s husband asked for family to come to say their good byes. The plan was to disconnect life support at the recommendation of the physicians. Renee made a request for prayer for Melanie. And the prayers poured in. In the early morning hours of Tuesday, I received a call from Jillian, letting me know the plan was to disconnect life support once the family gathered. I sent an update to you all, again asking for prayers. Not long after, a nurse doing her assessment on Melanie noticed purposeful movement of her left arm. The team was called in and were amazed to see this sign. They even told the family that they could not explain it other than to call it miraculous. Renee and Jillian convinced Mel’s husband that full measures should be taken and he agreed. A second brain surgery was then performed to help relieve the pressure on the brain, remove clotting and stop a new bleed. The surgery went well. The plan was to keep Melanie heavily sedated throughout the night. This allowed an opportunity for Renee to try to get some sleep, but not before stopping by the other hospital to hold her new grand daughter for the first time. She reports Elsa is the most beautiful baby! So now Renee is headed back to the hospital to be with Melanie. She asked if to update you all to let you know how important the prayers have been. Renee again is asking that we all continue to pray for Melanie and ask for a miracle. She knows how powerful prayer can be and is asking we continue to pray.
