HEYYYYYY ITS CHAPTER THREE!!!!!! YAYYYYYY!!! The Prick Chapter Three “Alyndra!” David exclaimed, rushing over. The dagger clattered to the ground, and I stared at the river of red running down my arm and dripping onto the floor. David reached for my hand but I pulled it away. “Wait,” I said, “I wanted to try something…” “You wanted to try something?” David asked incredulously, “I’m sorry but I’m not going to let you stab yourself to try something.” I held my finger up, watching the blood for a minute more. Then, I slowly ran my fingers over the deep cut, watching the cut close up under my touch. David hovered over me, staring in amazement . “Amazing…” he whispered, “I’ve never seen any Apollo kid able to do that before.” I smiled ruefully. “Me neither.” Glaring at me, David playfully punched my shoulder. I purposely stumbled back, grabbing at my shoulder at staring at him, eyes wide. He thought I was serious. “Alyndra, I’m so sorry, I was just kidding!” he exclaimed, reaching out to help me up from where I had ‘fallen’. I took his hand and started laughing. “The Athenian isn’t so smart, now is he?” I laughed. He narrowed his eyes jokingly, “Alrighty then, Miss Grace, lead the way, since apparently you are much smarter than I!” I rolled my eyes and walked out the door of the armory. We walked along the beach, making small talk, until a short girl with coal black eyes ran up, in tears. “Melissa?” David asked, shocked. The girl gasped for breath, and when she did talk, I could barely understand her through her tears and gasping. “Hades cabin- need you- Amaya- please hurry-” she sort of said. David seemed to understand, because his face went white and he raced off, getting a few second head start. I quickly ran after him, wondering what had happened. Whatever it was, it couldn’t be good. Soon, I caught up to him, and we ran side by side for awhile. “What’s wrong?” I asked. “I’m not sure, but Melissa never cries. So it can’t be good.” I ran up behind David, at what I assumed was the Hades cabin. There was a fairly large crowd gathered, and I managed to elbow in next to David, only thanks to my eternal shortness. Another girl was lying on the ground, her breathing shallow. Melissa was crouched next to her, balling. “P-please don’t leave me…. Amaya, please….” I assumed the girl on the ground was Amaya. She had bright red hair, and when I say bright, I mean like Apollo’s sun chariot bright. David crouched down next to her, and started doing a bunch of fancy medical stuff like the doctors do when you go for a check-up. I watched him, checking her myself to see if there was anything on the outside that was wrong. David started talking to some people, but I wasn’t listening. I saw what was wrong. “David….” I nudged him, still staring. “Alyndra, not now. Okay, and-” he said, ignoring me. “David!” I said, this time yanking on his arm. “What?” he snapped. I pointed to Amaya’s arm. “You might want to have a look at THAT.” He looked where I was pointing; at the black tattoo that had appeared on her arm. ~~~ OHHHH I DID IT AGAIN. Well, please review anyway!! :) ~Annabeth
