HI ALL!!! This may seem out of character for the current iteration of Dan Burbott you all know... BUT... Ive chosen, for myself and for the charity, to pour my heart and soul into something that isnt my own self-fulfilling grief. It is a choice that I have decided, through hell or high water, to stick to, even when I feel overwhelmed or beaten down. Ive signed up for St. Jude Childrens Research Hospitals upcoming fundraising event, the Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon, as part of their Heroes program. This means Ive pledged to raise a MINIMUM of $1,500. This seems either to far exceed my capability or be an easily achievable goal, but that is yet to be determined, and likely depends on my skills of persuasion to get friends and family to donate, both for me but more importantly (because Im particularly attuned to how annoying I can be sometimes... ok most times) for these children. My donation page expands on why I chose St. Judes as opposed to the many other amazing charities out there. I plan on posting this often (sorry, not sorry) and likely you will get a personal message from me asking for (i.e. demanding) your help to reach my goal. But, I will not take offense should you decline, as this has already been a charity-filled year for your pocketbooks. If you have the time, check out my page. Thank you for the consideration, and cheers to increasing the survival rate of children with cancer or other disastrous diseases, and cheers to doing something soooo much better than facebooking about my sophomoric life choices or my woes. :)
