HIV-positive child denied school fees: She is only 12 years old but her life experience would make you think she is older. When she was 10 years old, she learnt that she was HIV positive and from what she had heard about HIV/Aids, she was certain she would die soon. Though her age mates discriminated against her because of her body full of wounds, she ignored them and concentrated on school only for that to be taken away from her because of her HIV status. When her father discovered that he was positive and so was Harriet, he abandoned the family and refused to pay her school fees. She had to drop out of school in Primary Two but would like to go back.
