HOME Whether we philosophize it or spiritualize it, forcefully disturbing the conscience of a man in the name of religion or ideology is equal to disturbing and destroying his home. Home is not a static reality. It is an evolving social institution. Home undergoes constant changes in beliefs practices ways of living , approaches to its surroundings and its relationships to the world at large. This is what we call progress and evolution of human consciousness. There is no progress without change for the better. Progress is not a backward movement rather it is forward movement. In the social dimensions progress has got a centrifugal tendency where differences are reconciled and humanity becomes all the more united in its progress towards the future in realizing its internal potentials. Organized religion in many a time is a hindrance to human progress. Through its rituals and overburdened moral codes it prevents man from exercising his creativity in fullness. Human creativity helps him to make this earth an ever new home everyday. Most of the time religion pulls him backward by bringing in so many moral barriers. Conservative and communal identity formation process with which religion is engaged for centuries created tensions and distractions and finally led to the annihilations of human communities and races. Indian religions were exceptions to this and were maintaining a universal outlook in its glorious past. The recent communalisation of these profound ideologies create sad feelings in the minds of those who think impartially. Rituals and ideals are human creations and they should not bind man in exercising his freedom to live with dignity. Man is at the top of the hierarchy of the animal kingdom. To maintain that dignity, man should be free not to subordinate himself to other animals and natural forces and ideological constraints. If this freedom can be maintained home becomes a happy home rathe than a conglomeration of fanatic and old fashioned individuals of closed minds. Nobody has the right to forcefully disturb a human being in the name any religion or ideology. Let man choose the good according to his reason and free conscience and Let man preach what he believes.
