HONORABLE BIRTHDAY MENTIONS: Frankie Lymon of Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers was born this day in 1942. In 1956 Why Do Fools Fall In Love went all the way to No.6 in the US & No.1 in the UK. Sadly, he died from a drug overdose on 28th February 1968 aged 28. This guy is best known for his work with Elton John. David Bowie, The Beach Boys, Zombies, Kiki Dee, Strawbs, XTC and Joan Armatrading. Gus Dudgeon was born this day in 1942. He was killed in a car accident on 21st July 2002 along with his wife Sheila. Marc Bolan, guitarist, singer & songwriter of T Rex fame was born this day in 1947. T-Rex saw success with songs Hot Love from 1971 & Bang A Gong (Get It On) 1972 plus over 20 other UK Top 40 singles. Bolan was killed in a car accident on 16th September 1977. And in 1942 Dewey Martin of The Dillards and Buffalo Springfield, who had the 1967 hit single For What Its Worth was born. Martin died on 31st Jan 2009, aged 68.
