Marc Bolan, guitarist, singer & songwriter of T Rex fame was born this day in 1947. T-Rex saw success with songs Hot Love from 1971 & Bang A Gong (Get It On) 1972 plus over 20 other UK Top 40 singles. Bolan was killed in a car accident on 16th September 1977. And in 1942 Dewey Martin of The Dillards and Buffalo Springfield, who had the 1967 hit single For What Its Worth was born. Martin died on 31st Jan 2009, aged 68.
