HOUSE KEEPING INEVITABLE :STRENGTHENING THE PARTY BEYOND 2017.(PART 1) There is a mistaken notion,or so i feel ,in the top TNA leadership that what is now necessary for the red party to delivery victory come 2017 is to spread the net wider and catch more votes from areas previously perceived hostile to the party. While doing so is out of question ,i am tempted to point to a few things i have observed over the last 24 months that concludes my view by the party above as mistaken. First, the party is loose in the grassroots.Since elections,few events by the party has played to the favor of TNA.This is possibly because the government has in recent past camped in various opposition areas.The central subscribers to the party have not had the privilege of owning the party unlike ODM which forever on the move carrying along its supporters. Secondly,the party has no established delegation mechanism.Everything is done by the Nairobi people and in Nairobi.The supporters in the village again miss a chance to own the party .The only indicator that TNA exists in most areas like Muranga are the now faded boda boda reflector jackets . The party,in my eyes,lacks the idea .In my view,it is difficult to tell you what TNA stands for if you asked me right now.Apart from voting for a kikuyu anytime ,the party has not invested in sound and solid philosophy.Ask a kikuyu what ODM stands for and he will be quick to point to :liberation of the luo community from from oppression by the government;and normally the government is construed to mean the kikuyu ruling. In the next chapter ,i give a 5, point strategy that the party,for which am a strong proponent,can implement to strengthen it beyond 2017. Mwangi Wa Maina M,W& M
