HOW SIN SUBTRACTS Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:20-23). Read : Romans 6:23 Sin is very sweet; very pleasant; very appetising. The danger about sin is that people have a way of rationalizing their actions to justify their sinful habits. It does not matter to a young female graduate to sleep with her boss to earn promotion, or to sleep with a man to gain employment. In order to look big, ride big cars, live in comfortable apartments, appear sophisticated, travel abroad for holidays, many ladies have been contaminated, and they do not bother. Some men get involved in secret cult activities, practise evil and put hands in all sorts of unpleasant things - yet they will rationalise their action. But what i want to let you know today is that sin cuts short. The Bible says, all have sinned and came short of the glory of God. When you sin, you come short of Gods glory, in other words, the glory of God in you diminishes. You become disqualified for His glory, your spiritual value is discounted. The time you will use in praising God to attract His glorious presence, you spend it in confessing of sin. The Bible says God inhabit the praises of His people. God does not inhabit the sin of His people. Why then would you get involved in something that will put you apart from God? Why would you do what will make you sorrowful? The Bible says in 1 John 3:20-21 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.. When your conscience condemns you, you cannot approach God with boldness; worst still, if your conscience has been sealed with hot iron that you no longer feel worried about sin, you are heading towards destruction. Many churches today are afraid of mentioning sin for fear of losing congregation members. Some preach traditional way of worship and tell their members that Christ has paid the price for their sins,Therefore, they can go ahead and live anyhow. When you confront them, their response always is, did the Pastor or priest send you to go and steal, fornicate, lie etc? Yet the same church leader reminds you to give good offering to God. Pity! Prayer Points: * Ask God for grace to live a righteous and holy life. * Determine to live that life that will increase Gods glory in your life.
