HOW TO CONTACT YOUR REPS- What we need to do for progress to occur. Contact both your Senator and Assembly rep to let them know you have a problem with WI family law. You can call on the phone, you can send an e-mail or even mail a letter. The important thing is that they hear from you. Go to the Legislatures website page linked here to see who represents you. Simply enter your address in the box and you will get their names with phone numbers and e-mail. Call both offices and you will probably get a staffer. Be polite and brief with this person. Just say you have a problem with family law and would like to talk to your rep about it. Dont tell the staffer your whole story. Think of it like setting up a doctors appointment. You dont tell the receptionist your ailments, you wait to talk with doctor. If you get voice email leave a message with your phone number. You can ask for a meeting either at the Capitol or in your district. You can ask to talk with him/her by phone. Every phone call and the subject is reported to the rep so even if you dont get a meeting right away they will be aware that you called. You may be offered a meeting with staff. Take it. Then you can tell your story. If you would like someone from Dads of Wisconsin to go with you contact us and well see what we can work out. If they wont talk with you let us know about it. legis.wisconsin.gov/Pages/waml.aspx
