HOW TO TEACH THEM. Im learning a Bible memory verse! Application: Simple memory verses and how to teach them. Introduction: One of the most important things a teacher can teach children is a memory verse from Scripture as the Bible says that faith comes by hearing the Word. It is good to always include an application and an appropriate memory verse with every Bible lesson, story or activity that you present to your class. Press here for Creative Ways to Teach Memory Verses When teaching a memory verse, it is best to first explain the meaning of the verse. For the children to memorise it, they need to repeat it out loud several times. For it to remain in their long term memory, it needs to be reviewed each week for several weeks. In Psalm 119:11, David gives us one of the reasons for his success and why God chose him to be king over Israel: Your Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against You. This is the best reason to teach memory verses. God will plant them in the childs heart and when he or she is older, the Holy Spirit wiil bring them to their remembrance and apply them to their lives. In Proverbs 22:6, the Bible tells us to: Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it. The following memory verses are from the Bible and some have been paraphrased. This is to make them simple and easy for young children to learn and memorise. When they are older, the children can learn the full verse from an easy-to-understand version of the Bible.
