HSE Midlands Convening Positive Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Support Networks The HSE in the Midlands are developing ‘Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Support Networks’ in each of the four counties of Laois, Offaly, Longford and Westmeath. These Networks will provide a forum for individuals who have participated in the A.S.I.S.T. workshops to receive additional training, support and networking opportunities. The overall aim is to increase confidence and ability to foster positive mental health and suicide safety within communities. It is intended that the Support Networks will meet approximately 4 times per year and will be supported by a Facilitator. The HSE Suicide Prevention Department and the Health Promotion and Improvement Department are collaborating on this work to support the many people who seek to support mental health in their community. Individuals who have attended A.S.I.S.T. training over the last 5 years are invited to register on their relevant, county based ‘Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Support Network’.
