HUNTER OR FARMER? What am I on about ? Are you so busy hunting for fans that youve forgotten to cultivate sales from the ones you have? ( Farming) I see a lot of lovely businesses on Facebook doing very well at the moment even though their reach is crap like so many of ours . It seems they are putting the hunting mentality behind them & finding other ways of keeping motivated & active. They are farming from communities like ours to reach a wider audience . One way seems to be to FORGET ABOUT COUNTERS - we never had them 3 or 4 yrs ago & we all seemed to rely pretty much on BEING SEEN on pages like ours & farming the pages ( participating constantly ) Now of course this was before the pages became SPLIT so as they posted here at #HTLMP their post was visible straight away ( as in a group now - its worth mentioning we didnt have them either ) However its still very effective ... chatting & posting away here helps your business be seen daily . Facebook is FREE but it will make you work harder for a buck out of their generosity ( and I dont think we should be moaning about how they are making it harder because its free its not a given right or cash cow to do well here on Facebook & its NO QUICK FIX to get you up on that business ladder either ) - no one ever is going to hand it to you on a plate on or off Facebook but there are ways you can make it easier on yourself for sure .... The first thing is go old school FORGET THE COUNTERS...... forget the green arrows & concentrate on WHAT YOU ARE DOING & not what others are doing for you ( i.e. comment buddies , asking fans if they can see you like you or share you etc ) If you wish to be a success of Facebook than you have to FARM. Start by posting to network pages OFTEN & DAILY. Be involved constantly with these communities start being the name on the tip of everyones tongue for the product service you provide . Diary it in if you have to - I will make HTLMP posting a habit at 6am or 6pm whatever FITS IN YOUR LIFE Secondly FARM your page & fans Take a real interest in them on your walls AND THEIRS You can have 756 fans & yet only 20 in total really ENGAGING with you to help you be seen wider audience thats why communities like ours come into play ... THIS IS WHERE YOU REACH MORE PPL .... TOGETHER HUNTING for fans & likes can be short lived Gathering them are in the main EMPTY Organically gather them from good content posting here We have many discussions you can get involved in #hikerneeds post can do this too Appreciating fellow hikers posts can bring rewards like this too YES IT WILL TAKE TIME - it wont be 100 fans in seconds ( and yes sometimes these can SOMETIMES give you a sale Ill not deny it but few & far in-between this is SHORT TERM ) Im thinking LONG TERM here for your businesses & helping you build strong business foundations so you are still here in 3 years doing WELL MDx
