Before the build begins, the correct way to solder is demonstrated and practiced. This build introduces a number of key skills and concepts including precision soldering, adding true-bypass, automatic on/off switching, circuit grounding, a number of important and useful electronic principles and the correct way to mount components in an aluminum enclosure. By the end of this workshop participants will have gained all the necessary knowledge and skills to begin making and modifying analog effects from home. Find out more about the people running the workshop here: maker.ie/ CIRCUIT BENDING WORKSHOP – Sunday 27th October 2:00 – 4:00 pm at The Dock Arts Centre €15 Circuit bending is the creative customization of the circuits within electronic devices such as low voltage, battery-powered guitar effects, children’s toys and digital synthesizers to create new musical or visual instruments and sound generators.’ TIBETAN GONG SOUND BATH with Marta Lyszkiewiczo – Sunday 27th October 3:30 – 4:30 pm at The Dock Arts Centre €15 This workshop is free for all festival ticket holders. Please note, limited to 30 places. Please bring a pillow or yoga/rolly mat if you can. The most basic element of the human being is the cell. The simplest way of communicating with the cells is through vibration. External vibrations cause a sympathetic resonance in the cells. When tapping a singing bowl placed on the body which consists of more than 70% of water, the sound transmitted causes the cell to resonate. The sound waves spread, as the ripples from a stone dropped in a pond, into larger and larger circles through blood, flesh, organs and even bones, relaxing them and at the same harmonising and energising them. In this way the more than 100 trillion cells that are the building blocks of the human body receive a gentle cell massage. A visual example of the cleansing power invoked here is what happens when we put jewellery or dentures into a supertonic bath and see how in a short while all the dirt and grime is shaken loose. In this way sound can also release energy blockages through out the mind, body, and spirit. Any sound affects the nervous system which in turn affects every cell in the body. The bowl vibrations are soothing enough to calm the nervous system yet powerful enough to travel deep into the body to penetrate the bones. Vibrations can travel into places you could never touch with your hands, to effect a healing that would be very difficult to achieve otherwise. sound-healing.ie Tickets available on the Door ***MUSIC*** FRIDAY FESTIVAL LAUNCH 8:00 pm – Midnight at The Dock Arts Centre €8 Launch of “A Guide to Here Nor There” by Stephen Rennicks DIVIL A’ BIT Present @The Interactive Keyboard Massacre” SCHOOL TOUR – Dance Set INNERCITY – Dance Set Live Music to be followed by DJ John Byrne SATURDAY Evening Music Soiree 4:40 pm – 8:00 pm at The Dock Arts Centre €5 Java Delle 7:30 pm – 8:00 pm Bird People 6:50 pm – 7:20 pm Nacht Und Nebel 6:20 pm – 6:40 pm RUAIRI O’ BAOIGHILL 5:50 pm – 6: 10 pm Mvestle 5:10 pm – 5:40 pm Katie O’Neill 4:40 pm – 5:00 pm SATURDAY NIGHT 8:30 pm – 1:30 am at The Dock Arts Centre €15 Consumer Electronics 11:45 pm – 12:45 am Orphan Fairytale 10:40 pm – 11:20 pm ZOM 9:50 pm – 10:30 pm Phil Collins Project 9:10 pm – 9:40 pm Cathal Roche & Guest 8:30 pm – 9:00 pm Live Music to be Followed by DJ John Byrne SUNDAY AFTERNOON 4:30 pm – 8:00 pm in St. Georges Church €18 Ivan Pawle of Doctor Strangely Strange 7:10 pm – 8:00 pm James King 6:40 pm – 7:00 pm Miaux 6:00 pm – 6:30 pm Innercity 4:40 pm – 5:10 pm Jennifer Walshe 5:20 pm – 5:50 pm Alan Woods 4:30 pm – 4:40 pm SUNDAY NIGHT 8:30 pm – 1:30 pm In the Dock Arts Centre €18 Rhys Chatham 11:45 pm – 12:45 am Zomes 11:45 pm – 12: 45 am Control Unit 10:40 pm – 11:20 pm School Tour 9:50 pm – 10-:30 pm Cat Piss Brain Rot 8:30 pm – 9: 00 pm Live Music to be Followed by DJ John Byrne thehuntersmoonfestival.bigcartel
