:::: HUYLER TAKES THE MENS HJ AT WCIGP ::::: The mens HJ was one of the hottest contested events at the 2014 WCIGP. With every competitor in the field having a P.B of 2.20m or better going into competition weekend. The early competition favored Donte Nall the events only IAAF Top50 competitor and the highest P.B of 2.25m going into the first bar. As the competition commenced all 6 competitors made the opening bar. The surprise of the competition was an early exit by the 2014 Runner up at USA Indoor Nationals at 2.27m, Darius Purcell. Following clearances at 2.17m and 2.20m only two athletes remained in contention for the WCIGP title. Donte Nall and Garrett Huyler. The competition became a battle of former Ivy League and ACC standouts. After a first bar clearance by Huyler at 2.24m and a miss by Nall, Nall passed his next two attempts to 2.27m hoping to overcome his one miss depreciate. After two consecutive misses by Nall and three by Huyler the 2014 WCIGP HJ title went to the former Ivy League standout at Cornell University. Hyler matched his lifetime best while posting a top5 USA mark to take the victory. The 2.24m bar also secured a qualifying standard for USA Indoor Nationals. the TEAM@ WCIGP
