HWY 71B AND HWY 16 CONSTRUCTION FOR FAYETTEVILLE AREA The Contractor has informed the AR State Highway and Transportation Dept. District Four Headquarters at Fort Smith that work will begin Monday, July 8 on Hwy. 71B and Hwy. 16 in south Fayetteville. This work will include the coldmilling and resurfacing of the existing roadway. Lane closures may be expected between 6:30 AM and 6:30 PM at various locations along these sections of highway. However, adjustment of the times of any announced lane closures may become necessary due to weather or other unforeseen conditions. This work is part of a project to resurface Hwy. 71B from just south of Hwy. 16 (15th Street) to the Fulbright Expressway and to resurface Hwy. 16 from Hwy. 71B to Razorback Road. The work is scheduled to be completed no later than October 25, 2013. Motorists are urges to use care and think ahead when traveling through the work zone. They should remember to Obey the Posted Speed Limits and Other Regulatory Signing; to Leave Room between them and other vehicles; to Be Aware of Road Conditions in front of them; and to Anticipate the Unexpected Need to Stop or Reduce Speed Substantially.
